Anthropic launches Cowork — a Claude desktop agent for non-technical users

Anthropic released Cowork on Monday, an AI agent for non-technical tasks built in roughly a week and a half using Claude Code itself. The feature is available as a research preview to Claude Max subscribers ($100–$200/month) via macOS desktop. Cowork extends Claude Code's capabilities to automate tasks like expense reports, positioning Anthropic against Microsoft Copilot in the AI productivity market.
